Monarc has two divisions within the company: the Commercial Division and the Service and Special Projects Division. The Service and Special Projects division typically undertake the jobs under $3,000,000 and self-performs a large amount of work. The Commercial division typically handles projects above $3,000,000.

 

Monarc has over 70 employees including Estimators, Accountants, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Foremen, and Skilled Craftsmen. Monarc’s workforce cares for both large and small needs of all our clients: developers and management firms to foreign embassies and private individuals. Clients also call on Monarc for unique and unusual projects that require special-level craftsmanship, creativity, and coordination.

To accommodate these needs, Monarc has created three divisions within the company: Service, Special Projects, and Commercial.

COMMERCIAL DIVISION

With over 37 years of experience, Monarc has successfully completed hundreds of new construction and renovation projects in the DC Metropolitan area. From projects of historical significance to logistically challenging urban environments, Monarc recognizes the complexities of each project. Monarc operates in a variety of market segments including Multi-Family Residential, Commercial, Historic Renovations, Institutes, Medical, and Tenant Fit-Out.


SERVICE & SPECIAL PROJECTS DIVISION

Monarc’s Service & Special Projects (SSP) Division has been developed specifically to meet your small to mid-size project and general service requirements. We work with your group and develop a team by assigning the right people from our staff to meet your needs. Whether it be a simple roof leak or bathroom renovation to a more complex tenant improvement or mechanical project, SSP will expertly match individual talent and highly skilled subcontractors with your requirements. Our ability to work with you and understand your needs will ensure a seamless work transition that will allow us to keep within your budget and minimize any disruption of your facility operations while we perform the work.

These services are available 24 hours per day / 7 days per week / 365 days per year.

PRECONSTRUCTION SERVICES

Monarc provides design collaboration and preconstruction services to take a project from schematic design through final working drawings and construction. Our goal is to work with Owners and design team to help meet their construction goals in the most cost-effective, timely and safe manner. This means providing real-time feedback on design and program options in order to make informed decisions throughout the process. We have the expertise to assist the team in providing project feasibility studies, reviewing site selection, performing detailed value engineering, and developing accurate schedules for all phases of the project. Monarc’s Preconstruction services include the following:

  • Interactive progress cost estimates

  • Constructability reviews at each estimate

  • Construction schedules, updated as conditions warrant

  • Phasing / site utilization / coordination plans as needed

  • Value engineering services
